Ceramicist
Full Artist Biography
Kiona is a ceramic artist whose practice thrives in the space of exploring curiosities. She creates through intuition, experimentation, and a willingness to take risks—approaching clay not as a material to master, but as a collaborator with its own rhythm and voice.
Her relationship with ceramics began as an act of exploration, one that quickly grew into a deeply personal dialogue between herself and the medium. She often blurs the line between technique and instinct, letting her hands follow impulse rather than expectation. At times, she even works blindfolded—removing sight to surrender to pure tactile connection and allowing form to emerge unplanned.
Drawn to variety and adventure, Kiona’s practice often resists a single aesthetic. Each series becomes its own world, shaped by a hunger to try new things and an openness to surprise. Through this process, her work reflects both the rawness of experimentation and the quiet reverence of craftsmanship.
For Kiona, making is a way of getting lost—of finding new worlds through clay, of staying awake to possibility, and of honoring the beauty that happens when we let go of control and let the process lead.
